E. coli found on one of the beaches of Komsomolskoye Lake in Minsk

Children's swimming is temporarily prohibited on beach No. 6 of the Komsomolskoye Lake reservoir in Minsk after the water was found to exceed permissible microbiological indicators, including E. coli, as reported by Zelenbud of the Central District of the capital.

The reason for introducing the restrictions was the results of laboratory tests conducted on July 23.

The prohibition applies only to children's swimming within the confines of beach No. 6. If the water's sanitary indicators improve and meet established norms, the restriction may be lifted.

Previously, similar measures were already taken on individual beaches in the Gomel, Grodno, and Mogilev regions; however, Minsk's reservoirs were not included in that list at the time.

The Republican Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology, and Public Health reminded that throughout the entire swimming season, water quality at official beaches across the country is monitored weekly.
