Lionel had an assist. Semifinal against England.

The Argentina national team reached the World Cup semifinals, securing a victory over Switzerland in extra time — 3:1.
The team opened the scoring in the 10th minute — Mac Allister scored from a pass by Messi, in the 67th minute N'Doye equalized, but in the 72nd minute Embolo was sent off the field for a second yellow card, and Switzerland was left with ten men. And then bravely defended until the end of regular time.
A notable moment occurred in the 82nd minute with the score 1:1.
Messi was knocked down in an attack, there was no foul, the Argentine lay on the grass for five seconds and quickly got up and ran on to look for ways to the Swiss goal. And two minutes later, he came face-to-face with the Swiss goalkeeper Kobel, but the linesman raised the flag: offside.
Regular time ended 1:1.
In extra time, in the 112th minute, Julián Álvarez scored a goal, and at the very end of extra time, Lautaro Martínez sealed the deal — 3:1.
Thus the semifinals:
France — Spain (Tuesday, 22:00)
England — Argentina (Wednesday, 22:00).
The final is next Sunday, July 19.
Argentina won the previous World Cup, but since 1962, no national team has won the World Cup twice in a row. In 1958 and 1962, Brazil won the World Cup consecutively, and then, as if cut off, only with a break between World Cups.
For example, Argentina won the 1986 World Cup, lost to West Germany in the 1990 final; Brazil won the World Cup in 1994, lost to France in the 1998 final. France won the World Cup in 2018, and in 2022, lost to Argentina on penalties in the final.
Moreover, the previous winner still needs to reach the final; some don't even make it to the playoffs. Like Germany in 2018.
