The identity of the medic who tortured and sexually assaulted Ukrainian prisoners in a colony in the Vladimir region has been established
The medic nicknamed Konoval, who tortured Ukrainian prisoners in a colony in the Vladimir region, is named Vyacheslav Chardantsev, established the investigative project "Schemes".
Journalists spoke with approximately 50 Ukrainians who returned from captivity and were held in the Pokino colony (PC-7) in the Vladimir region.
According to the prisoners' accounts, Chardantsev regularly abused them, forced them to undress, simulate sexual acts, and made demeaning remarks about their genitals.
"It seemed to us that he was a pervert," one of those interviewed said.
In addition, Chardantsev did not provide medical assistance to the prisoners, which, in particular, led to an outbreak of scabies in the colony. “We can’t sleep at night because of scabies; you ask him for ointment, and he says he wants us to suffer.”
Chardantsev is 48 years old, born in Kyrgyzstan. There he worked as a paramedic in a correctional colony for minors.
According to a report reviewed by "Schemes", the medical unit's office in that institution was often closed, basic medicines were absent, and teenagers suffered from infectious and dermatological diseases in an advanced stage.
Chardantsev likely moved to Russia in 2013, settling in the village of Pervomayskoye near Pokino. Initially, he worked in an orphanage, and since 2015, he has been working at PC-7, where he has been for over 10 years.
