Nazarov's dismissal «for an indifferent attitude towards investment and foreign trade issues» was announced by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a meeting dedicated to the results of the work of government bodies on economic development in the first half of this year.

Rakhmatulla Nazarov held the position of ambassador to Belarus since early February 2024. He was appointed a few days before Alexander Lukashenka's visit to Uzbekistan. At that time, the authorities of the two countries agreed to implement export contracts and investment projects worth over $1 billion in 2024–2025.

In March 2026, at a meeting with Lukashenka, Nazarov reported that in 2025 the countries almost reached this mark and now plan to increase trade turnover to $2 billion in the near future.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also expressed dissatisfaction with the results of the work of Uzbekistan's ambassadors in France, Austria, Spain, Italy, Oman, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.
