The Investigative Committee established the circumstances of the murder of a newborn child by a 24-year-old resident of the urban settlement of Ushachy. It occurred on the morning of March 21, 2026.
The woman, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, gave birth to a boy in an outdoor latrine in the yard of her house. After that, she severed the umbilical cord, and the infant fell into the cesspit. The mother did not try to save the child and simply returned to the house.
The woman deliberately did not seek medical attention and concealed her pregnancy because she did not want to keep the child.
The woman's cohabitant noticed her blood-stained clothes. His mother called an ambulance. Medics passed the information to the police. Police officers found the body of a boy without signs of life in the cesspit.
A forensic medical examination confirmed that the boy was born alive, full-term, and viable. He died in the cesspit.
Ethyl alcohol was found in the infant's blood, meaning the mother consumed alcohol right before childbirth.
DNA examination confirmed the accused's maternity and excluded the paternity of her cohabitant.
During interrogation, the woman explained that she had already been restricted in parental rights over her first minor daughter due to alcoholism and unemployment. She did not want the second child, it was not from her cohabitant, and she, according to her words, was afraid to admit this to him.
