Siarhei Yaroshevich, husband of Antonina Kanavalava, convicted in the 'Army with the People' channel case, has been released

He served about six years.

In May 2021, Siarhei was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in a penal colony in the case of the Telegram channel "Army with the People".

"The children finally have their dad back, free and safe. Most of all, I wish this day would come for every political prisoner, so that everyone could be in the arms of their dearest people, so that no one else would wait for their loved ones behind barbed wire," — wrote his wife, former political prisoner Antonina Kanavalava.

Siarhei was detained in October 2020, and later convicted under articles on gross violation of public order (Article 342 of the Criminal Code), and preparation for and participation in mass riots (Parts 2 and 3 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code).

Initially, Siarhei was sentenced to 5 years and 6 months in a penal colony. However, nine more months were added later.
