Inna, a resident of Grodno, shared an unusual find. During a walk in the area of Karalino village, she noticed a large mushroom — a puffball — which was approximately the size of a human head, newgrodno.by reports .

The mushroom was not weighed, but its size can be estimated from the photos: one of the shots shows the find being carried home, with a pet nearby for comparison.

It is a puffball, or officially known as *Calvatia gigantea* (giant puffball). Such a mushroom can usually grow up to 50-70 centimeters in diameter, and its weight ranges from 1 to 4 kilograms. However, there have been known cases where individual specimens weighed more than 20 kilograms.
This species is considered conditionally edible, but it can only be consumed at a young age. If the flesh inside is white and dense, the mushroom is suitable for cooking. If it has turned brown, yellow, or green, it indicates that the mushroom is overripe and should no longer be eaten.
