During the night, drones attacked Russian Belgorod, after which a large-scale fire broke out at Belgorod State Technological University (BSTU). This was reported by the Telegram channel «Belgorod Ash», which published a video.

According to the publication, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were developed and tested at the university. It was this building that was hit by drones, and the building completely burned down.
As reported by Astra, BSTU designed an automated UAV control system based on the «Milandr» microprocessor. At the same time, the university stated that the development had a civilian purpose and was used for monitoring power lines, heating networks, and aerial photography.
In addition, in the summer of 2026, the university announced enrollment for a course on drone development for schoolchildren.
