The Leninsky District Court of Mogilev considered a civil case based on the lawsuit of a local resident who sought compensation for moral damages due to insults.

The woman and the man have a common 10-year-old son. They were not officially married and stopped living together shortly after the child's birth. However, conflicts periodically arose between the parents regarding the father's visitation schedule with his son and his participation in the child's upbringing.

On June 7, 2026, the man sent the woman voice messages via Viber containing insults, intentionally humiliating her honor and dignity. For this, he was brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Article 10.2 of the Administrative Offenses Code of Belarus.

Later, the woman applied to the court and stated that similar insults had occurred before, but she had not contacted the police earlier. However, after the conflict in June, she decided to defend her rights, as the situation also affected their minor son.

According to the woman, after the insults, she felt emotional exhaustion, helplessness, and vulnerability; she experienced sleep problems, headaches, and chest pains. She asked the court to recover 10,000 rubles from the man as compensation for moral damages, as well as court costs.

The man himself did not admit the claim. However, having examined the evidence, the court found the woman's claims to be justified. As a result, 500 rubles in compensation for moral damages, 135 rubles in state duty, and 850 rubles for legal assistance costs were recovered from the defendant in her favor.
