The fire occurred on August 15 near the village of Shamatova. The Ministry of Emergency Situations received a report about straw catching fire in a field, the Investigative Committee reports .
According to preliminary data, a 9-year-old boy found a pack of matches in a field. He went towards the field and set fire to a haystack. The fire quickly spread. When he couldn't extinguish the fire by himself, the boy ran away and did not inform adults about the incident.
As a result, about 450 tons of straw belonging to the local agricultural organization burned down. The amount of material damage amounted to more than 12 thousand rubles.
All circumstances of the incident are currently being clarified.
The boy has not yet reached the age of criminal responsibility, so his parents will have to compensate for the material damage in full.
