In Russia's Smolensk region, a large shipment of roses of Armenian origin was destroyed, which entered the country via the territory of Belarus without the necessary documents.
A truck traveling from the Minsk region to Moscow was stopped on June 18. During the inspection, the driver presented accompanying documents only for non-alcoholic tonic drinks. He had no documents for the flowers.
According to information from the Russian Rosselkhoznadzor, the preserved labeling tags indicated that the country of origin of the roses was Armenia. In total, there were 39.2 thousand flowers in the vehicle.
Since June 12, Russia has imposed a ban on the import and transit of goods of Armenian origin. In connection with this, on July 23, the entire confiscated shipment of roses was destroyed.
The carrier was brought to administrative responsibility for violating requirements for product transportation.
