Under certain circumstances, the Israeli Prime Minister is ready for an independent military strike on Iran. This was reported by the Israeli TV channel i24News.
"It may happen that we find ourselves in a situation where we will confront the Iranians alone, without US support — with all the associated costs: for armaments and international isolation," the prime minister said.
Israel does not want it to come to this, but knows that it could happen, Netanyahu said, Bild writes.
Donald Trump previously urged the Israeli head of government to refrain from independent actions, seeking to preserve the prospect of a diplomatic resolution to the conflict. This has heightened tensions between the US and Israel.
Israeli expert on Iran, Danny Citrinowicz, wrote on X that serious military actions without American support are a huge risk to Israel's national security, and should only be undertaken if there are no alternatives.
