Street in Pyongyang opened in honor of North Korean soldiers who died in Kursk Oblast
Kim Jong Un personally conducted the opening ceremony

In the capital of the DPRK, the construction of Saebel Street ("New Star") in honor of soldiers who died in battles in Kursk Oblast has been completed. The opening ceremony was personally conducted by Kim Jong Un, according to the DPRK news agency.
On the new street, "monumental architectural structures" have been erected, where the families of the fallen military personnel will live. The buildings are intended to "preserve the exploits of heroes who sacrificed their lives for the immortal honor and eternal prosperity of the Motherland".

The leader of the DPRK called Saebel Street "a symbol of the heroic era" and a source of pride for the entire country. At the ceremony, he handed over apartment warrants to the family members of the fallen, after which a concert took place.
In November 2024, the DPRK sent ten thousand military personnel to Russia. North Korean troop losses amounted to more than five thousand people, a third of whom were killed. In November 2025, it became known about the dispatch of another five thousand military personnel.
