Last week, an excavator partially ended up underwater in the Loshitsa river in Minsk's Brylevichi microdistrict. Witnesses shared photos and videos of the incident on social networks, writes the "Minsk-News" agency.

Local residents could observe an unusual scene behind metropolitan secondary school № 9 for several days: an excavator, half-submerged in water, stood motionless. As it turned out, during the cleaning of the river from vegetation, silt, and various debris, the earthmoving machine fell into a pit. The depth of the depression was about one and a half meters, so the excavator could not get out on its own.
The operation to free the equipment lasted several days and was completed last Saturday. First, specialists lowered the water level in that area. After that, the battery was removed from the engine compartment and the air filter was dried.
In parallel, a path was prepared for pulling out the excavator. A kind of bridge was made from the soil, metal planks—a special decking—were installed, after which the equipment stuck in the water was pulled out with the help of cables and other machinery.
During the work, water was pumped from one side of the river to the other. After completing all necessary manipulations, the embankment was removed, and the water level in the river was restored.
According to a representative of the Society for Water Rescue, as a result of the work carried out, the water level in the reservoir was restored and its inhabitants are not in danger.
