We asked girls how they feel about men with baldness and receding hairlines. And we spoke with doctors
Bald men can be attractive, and stars like Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, and Mike Tyson serve as proof. But do all women share this view? "Nasha Niva" asked girls how they feel about guys with baldness.
Hair loss can be caused by a variety of factors, including stress, diet changes, physical exertion, and even anesthesia. Despite the fact that more than a third of men face alopecia to some extent, this topic remains taboo, and the condition itself causes a lot of complexes among those who encounter this problem. But is it all that bad?
Irina: "I don't understand why men who have lost a lot of hair keep the 'forest around the lake' hairstyle — it's obvious that it looks bad. But completely shaved guys are sexy, if they are not wimps. They exude masculinity — you want to start a dialogue with them, or even something more."

Olga: "When I first meet someone, I evaluate their face and figure. During a more personal conversation, I try to find out the nuances of their character and financial capabilities. I wouldn't say that external factors are critically important for me, so if a man has a good sense of humor and a pleasant disposition, the other 'nuances' won't play a role."
Svetlana: "Bald men repel on an instinctive level — if it's genetic, it could be passed on to children, which I wouldn't want. At the same time, guys with this problem try harder on dates and put a lot of effort into pleasing a girl. This is endearing."
Eva: "Of course, I pay attention to hairstyles — not only in men, but also in women. In general, I don't care what's on anyone's head: if hair doesn't grow, what can you do, but it's important that everything is neat. In general, for men, the problem of baldness is solved with a normal haircut and clothes. It's harder for women: I think their receding hairlines bother them much more."
Evgenia: "I like bald men: some are beautiful — just fire. The main thing, as they say, is that the person should be kind. And that they have a nice figure. A stable job wouldn't hurt either."
Trichologist's Comment
Talking about baldness is not accepted in our society: men are ashamed of this ailment and therefore often turn to a trichologist when the situation is already quite advanced. Meanwhile, approximately 40% of men aged 40-50 experience hair loss. In younger ages, this percentage is lower, but alopecia as a disease is getting younger — more and more often, people under 30 come for appointments.

Baldness can be caused by various factors, such as stress, chronic diseases, or a deficiency of vitamins and minerals. Therefore, if a person starts to notice that more hair than usual remains on the comb, it would not be superfluous to take a course of vitamins A, B2, B5, B12, C, E. One should also pay attention to the levels of iron, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iodine, zinc, and copper.
However, there are other, more significant causes — heredity and hormonal imbalance. Unfortunately, hereditary predisposition to hair loss is practically untreatable. Interestingly, in 75% of cases, alopecia is inherited through the maternal line and only in 20% through the paternal line. Another 5% are cases related to a primary genetic disorder.
Another common cause of baldness is the effect of the male sex hormone — testosterone — on the hair follicle. There is an opinion that men with this type of baldness are excellent lovers and therefore become more attractive in the eyes of women. I hasten to disappoint: the effect of the hormone on hair is not related to the presence of testosterone in the blood, so no direct correlation between baldness and sexual temperament has been found.
Of course, it is very difficult to influence genetics and age, but there are tips that will slow down the hair loss process. Scalp stimulation with massagers, hyaluronic acid, and current therapy help well. In addition, one can also fight the complexes themselves: it is enough to pay attention to clothing style and overall appearance. Hair transplantation is also an excellent, but complex option. The main thing here is to find a trusted specialist and treat the underlying disorder that ultimately led to this problem.
