Four-year-old boy drowned in Mazyr district

The accident happened yesterday in the village of Balazhevichy, the IC reports.

In the evening, a woman lost sight of her 4-year-old grandson, who had been staying with her since the beginning of summer. Unnoticed by adults, the child left the yard and went outside.

During independent searches, relatives found the boy's belongings on the bank of a dugout of the Pripyat River behind the house and reported the incident to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).

Divers who arrived at the scene recovered the child's body from the water.
