New tram loop in Minsk. Here's what it looks like

The turning loop of the "Vozera" (Lake) dispatcher station is no more; trams now only go as far as the Minsk State Palace of Children and Youth, where a new loop has already been built.

The adjacent territory still needs to be landscaped, but changes to the routes of this type of public transport have already been made, writes Onliner.by.

Thus, tram routes №3 and №5 now run from Masherau Avenue along Dauman Street and Staravilienski Trakt to the new turning loop. Route №3 is now called "DS "Serabranka" — Palace of Children and Youth", and route №5 — "DS "Zialony Luh" — Palace of Children and Youth". The operation of tram route №4 has been suspended.

Simultaneously, to ensure transport service for Staravilienski Trakt and due to the cancellation of route №4, a new urban bus route №263 "Central Bus Station" — DS "Vozera"" has been organized daily, temporarily, from July 16, until the completion of landscaping works at the turning loop on Navavilenskaya Street.

Minsktrans also warned that due to the lack of landscaped areas, from July 16, passenger boarding and alighting at the "Palace of Children and Youth" stop will be cancelled for tram routes №3 and №5. The final stop for these routes will now be "Pyarospa".

What does the turning loop look like now?

The area is still fenced, but the new loop is already functional.

The road access to the Iranian embassy is not yet fully landscaped, but a temporary (likely) access has been organized nearby.

Staravilienski Trakt has also changed. Temporary road signs are still installed there, only half of the roadway is open for traffic (one lane in each direction), but new streetlights have already been installed, and a median strip has been created.
