But at Ihar Stankevich's request, he did not identify himself, only expressed the opinion that the researcher "recruits people to receive grants for this."
As Ihar Stankevich himself notes, his relatives constantly feel pressure from the security forces: DNA samples were taken from some relatives, from others, searches are periodically conducted and they are questioned about what and where their relative is doing.
Ihar Stankevich had to leave Belarus under threat of political persecution, the social networks of his initiative "Kabylyaki. Shot in Orsha" have been recognized as "extremist information products," and the researcher's full name has been added to the general wanted list database in Belarus and Russia.
