A girl traveled from Minsk to Tbilisi by car and saw what was happening with gasoline in Russia. "Gas stations are either completely closed or empty"

Before the trip, she herself decided to buy jerry cans, but barely found any: "Russians bought everything up".

Belarusian Katsiaryna decided to travel from Minsk to Tbilisi by car. She planned to spend about two days on the road. The girl described her adventures on Threads.

Katsiaryna knew about the situation with gasoline in Russia and decided to take fuel with her: «By my calculations, 80 liters would be more than enough to reach the Georgian border».

Up to 100 liters can be exported from Belarus in metal jerry cans — but first, they had to be bought, and that turned out to be a problem:

«There are NO jerry cans at gas stations — Russians bought everything up. I drove around all the «Belarusnafta» stations I came across — none of them had jerry cans; a delivery of a couple of units was expected within a week, but they were quickly bought out».

Only on the 4th day of searching did the girl manage to find two jerry cans at one of the gas stations, and the next day — another one in the Chyzhovka area.

In Orsha, Katsiaryna filled her tank completely and filled 3 jerry cans of 20 liters each.

After the border to Smolensk, at «Lukoil» and «Gazprom» stations, gasoline was almost everywhere. But further on, the situation changed:

«From M1 to Vyazma, gas stations were still encountered, but they were empty. From Vyazma to Kaluga (~200 km), not only was there no fuel — there were no gas stations at all».

In Tula, the situation was no better: «At gas stations, there was either no fuel at all, or there were long queues». But Katsiaryna managed to find a gas station with a minor queue and reached the pump in about 10 minutes.

On the M4 highway after Tula, towards Rostov, the situation became critical:

«Private stations were empty, «Lukoil» and «Gazprom» were either closed, or had no gasoline (only diesel or gas), or had huge hour-long queues. The jerry cans in the trunk brought great comfort».

In Rostov, it was the same: «There was still no fuel — gas stations were either completely closed or empty. Result — it's almost impossible to refuel on the M4. Both in the onward direction and in the reverse direction — queues for hours at the few gas stations where fuel is available».

They were able to refuel when they turned off the highway towards Vladikavkaz. Fuel was sold at 30 liters per car.

The girl had no internet connection in Russia.

«After the border, connectivity occasionally appeared, but there was no actual internet to check the route or write to anyone. A very interesting experience. Good thing we downloaded maps from «Yandex» in advance — it would have been impossible without them».

As a result, 150 liters of fuel were needed for the trip to Georgia. The girl spent 45 hours on the entire journey (including stops and an overnight stay).

Katsiaryna writes that she would repeat the trip, but not anytime soon.
