The average net salary is almost 2600 rubles, but the median is much lower.
The median salary in Belarus for May was 2,314.9 rubles, Belstat reported.
If taken net (i.e., after taxes), it will be 1990.8 rubles.
If taken at the average dollar exchange rate for May, it will be $833 gross and $717 net.
In May, the average gross salary in Belarus was 3003.5 rubles, net — 2583 rubles, or $1081 gross and $930 net, respectively.
Median salary is an indicator that divides all salaries into two equal parts: half of employees receive more than the median, and the other half — less than this value. It reflects the salary situation more accurately than the average salary indicator. The median salary amount is announced twice a year: for May and November.
