Resident of Novogrudok, jealous of former cohabitant, set her house on fire
In Novogrudok, a 45-year-old man has been detained, accused of setting fire to his former cohabitant's house, reports the Investigative Committee.

According to the investigation, the conflict between the man and the woman occurred in mid-July. After the quarrel, the man spent several days at acquaintances' homes, where he consumed alcohol.
Later, he decided to return to the woman. On the way, he bought alcohol and three liters of gasoline at a gas station.
When the former cohabitant approached the house, he demanded to be let in but was refused. Suspecting the woman of communicating with another man, he poured gasoline through an open veranda window and set it on fire. As a result, the fire quickly engulfed the room.
After the arson, the man fled and continued drinking alcohol on the city streets. He was soon detained by police officers.
It turned out that he had previously been convicted of intentionally causing minor bodily harm and making death threats. The victim in that case was also his former cohabitant.
A criminal case has been initiated against the resident of Novogrudok. He has been charged and taken into custody.
