Ten years ago, two newlywed couples accidentally met on a bridge in Vawkavysk. And now they found each other on social media
Did the famous omen, which was supposed to ensure the strength of marriages, work?
On her wedding anniversary, Belarusian Veranika Rybak decided to recall on social media an interesting incident that happened ten years ago.
On July 16, Vawkavysk celebrated City Day: Veranika and her fiancé Jan were registered at the district executive committee, and a note about their wedding was published in the local newspaper. The newlyweds later joked that even fireworks were arranged specially for them.
For their photoshoot, Veranika and Jan went to the "Praleska" sanatorium. There was a bridge on the way. They immediately remembered an old tradition: the husband must carry his wife in his arms - and if he succeeds, the marriage will be long and no difficulties will be daunting.
On the bridge, the couple met other newlyweds - the brides, who were in their husbands' arms, greeted and quickly congratulated each other. Then the grooms went their separate ways.
Over the years of marriage, Veranika and her husband had two children. They decided to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary on a grand scale. And in the process of preparation, they found that same picture with the other couple, taken on the bridge.
The woman became curious about who those newlyweds were and how their lives turned out. She wrote a post on Threads and published the picture, hoping that the heroes of the photo would recognize themselves: "I really hope that everything is well with these people. And it would be interesting to know their fate. What if they are no longer in Belarus, but somewhere in their home in Cyprus? If not, then I sincerely wish them that."
The post quickly went viral. And the second bride was found literally an hour later - it turned out to be Lada Tselesh. The woman admitted that she also often recalled that strange meeting.
She and her husband Dzmitry are also happily married - though now in Minsk. They have three growing daughters.
And on Threads, both families received many congratulations from strangers.
