Kazartsev: I will be in "Myrotvorets" with Svetlana Alexievich, Max Korzh and Siarhei Tsikhanouski
Yauhen Kazartsev, editor-in-chief of "Euroradio", found out two weeks ago that he was added to the database of the Ukrainian center "Myrotvorets". He tried "to justify why what was written is a lie and a manipulation, but received no response — that is their right." He does not consider it necessary to react further "to an obvious and possibly coordinated attack," he tells the Belarusian Association of Journalists.

"I knew I was added to this database two weeks ago. Well, they added me, they added me, I thought," Yauhen Kazartsev comments on the situation to BAJ. —
"On 'Myrotvorets', the text was written by my two 'admirers', who have been attacking me in every possible way for several months now. They wrote to the donor ('Euroradio'), and something on Facebook. By the way, for safety reasons, I worked anonymously these past years, but they outed me, because they obviously don't care about the safety of others."
Yauhen Kazartsev calls the message on the Ukrainian volunteer portal "manipulative":
"That I worked for 'Sputnik', I never hid — it's stated on my LinkedIn, etc. But the links they provide, they distort. For example, if you read through the links, nowhere do I deny the existence of political prisoners. The article where I supposedly call a volunteer a 'Nazi' is an interview with his friend who says that never happened, and a quote from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus. Of course, it's unpleasant that someone perceives manipulations and distortion of facts as truth and doesn't read further. But what can be done about it?"
Yauhen Kazartsev says he has already started collecting anonymous questions on the X network to answer subscribers later.
"I have been heading the editorial office of 'Euroradio' for a year and a half now. The media's policy, which is to fully support Ukraine and condemn Russian aggression, has not changed at all. We have published articles and videos about volunteers, about Russian crimes, a report from Bucha, etc. And it will continue. Those who want to understand, and not just throw words around — they will understand," Yauhen Kazartsev noted.
The journalist says he tried to contact "Myrotvorets":
"When I found out I was added to the database (I found out, by the way, from Russian media), I wrote to this project — there's an address there, saying, if you consider something a mistake, write to us. Using quotes from those same links, I justified why what was written is a lie and a manipulation. I received no response — that is their right. I don't plan to do anything else.
"If they believe I should be there — I will be there together with Svetlana Alexievich, Max Korzh and Siarhei Tsikhanouski. Not the worst company. In general, I don't consider it necessary to react to an obvious and possibly coordinated attack by 'detractors'. And there's a lot of work anyway."
