Peony and Iris Exhibition to Open in Central Botanical Garden

The opening will take place on Thursday, June 11.

Visitors will have the opportunity to get acquainted with a unique panorama of selection — from rare old forms to the latest developments of modern originators, Minsk-News reports.

The exhibition will allow tracing the history of peony development: from the ancestors of famous "Chinese varieties" to the legendary works of French breeders. A special section is dedicated to the works of Soviet scientists, whose plants are distinguished by their sophistication and exceptional resilience. The variety of forms, petal structures, and unexpected color solutions demonstrates the richness of this collection.

Special attention is paid to irises, which form a landscape image with peonies. Guests will see both historical varieties and new selective developments, as well as Siberian and species irises.

In addition, author's meetings with collection curators will take place. Events are scheduled for June 12 and 13.

Specialists will reveal professional aspects of planting and nuances of plant care in garden conditions.
