High-ranking military officer dies in car explosion in Balashikha near Moscow
Damir Davydov, head of the missile and artillery ammunition supply department of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, died during a BMW X3 car explosion in Balashikha near Moscow on the morning of June 9. He lived 200 meters from the building where the explosion occurred, according to data leaks studied by the 'Agentstvo' publication.

Blogger Anatoliy Shariy was the first to name the deceased, then the information was reiterated by the Telegram channel 'VChK-OGPU'.
According to the INSIDER UA channel, an explosive device containing 500 grams of TNT was used in the assassination attempt on Davydov.
Damir Davydov lived in Balashikha, in house No. 6 on Kozheduba Street, according to leaks studied by 'Agentstvo'. One house away — approximately 200 meters — is house 10 on Koldunova Street, where the explosion occurred. The explosion itself took place on Kozheduba Street, according to published videos.
Davydov was 57 years old and held the rank of colonel, according to leaks and data from the Ukrainian investigative project Evocation.
His surname became known from documents published by the founder of PMC 'Wagner', Yevgeny Prigozhin, during his conflict with the Ministry of Defense. He was one of three military personnel involved in the distribution of ammunition in the Russian army, Evocation wrote.
Davydov owned an Audi A4 at least in the period from 2016 to 2023, according to leaks. According to 'Autokod' data, this car was last sold in October 2024. There is no information in the leaks that he or his family members owned a BMW.
