A trivial incident at the country house ended in death. In the Pukhovichi district, a 52-year-old resident of the Minsk region died after a wasp sting.
The man and his wife came to their country house for the weekend. As the deceased's wife later recounted, on June 8, the man was mowing grass on the plot, and when he entered the house after work, he stepped on a wasp.
The woman offered her husband an antihistamine, but the man refused, considering the incident minor. This decision turned out to be fatal.
After some time, the man's condition began to rapidly deteriorate. He developed severe salivation, his breathing became heavy and wheezy, and soon he lost consciousness.
The frightened wife urgently called an ambulance crew, but paramedics were unable to save her husband.
The preliminary cause of the tragedy is called anaphylactic shock — an acute and very rapid allergic reaction of the body that leads to swelling of the airways and cardiac arrest.
