Viktor Goncharenko's Winning Streak Halted by Burkina Faso National Team
The Belarus national football team drew with the Burkina Faso national team in a friendly match, which took place on June 9 at the National Football Stadium in Minsk. The encounter ended with a score of 2:2.

In the first half, the guests looked slightly more active, creating several dangerous moments. However, after the break, the Belarusian team managed to seize the initiative.
In the 56th minute, Uladzislau Malkevich opened the scoring. Eleven minutes later, Karen Vardanyan extended the hosts' lead. It seemed that victory was already secured, but the Burkina Faso national team managed to turn the tide of the game. In the 73rd minute, Maïz Kabore scored one goal, and in the 85th minute, Edmond Tapsoba equalized.
Moreover, things could have ended even worse: at the end of the match, the goalkeeper of the Belarusian national team, Pavel Pavlyuchenko, saved his team several times after dangerous attacks from the opponent.
This match, attended by 15,875 spectators, was the first under the leadership of head coach Viktor Goncharenko in which the Belarusian national team failed to win. Previously, the team had won against the national teams of Cyprus (1:0), Armenia (2:1) and Syria (4:1).
The next official matches for the Belarus national team will take place in the autumn as part of the Nations League. On September 26, the Belarusians will face the Albania national team, and on September 29 — the Finland national team.
