In Luninets, a man wanted to dismantle a mattress and ended up burning down several buildings

A 61-year-old local resident was helping a friend tidy up the yard.

The man was dismantling an old mattress, but chose a very dangerous method for it.

Using an angle grinder, he was cutting the springs. After finishing the work, he walked away.

Upon returning, the man saw that the foam rubber had caught fire, and the flames were actively spreading to nearby buildings.

As a result of the fire, two outbuildings burned down, and three more residential houses sustained significant damage. Firefighters extinguished the blaze.

According to the expert conclusion of the State Forensic Examination Committee for the Brest region, the direct cause of the fire was the ignition of the mattress filler due to sparks falling onto its surface, which occurred during work with the angle grinder.
