Kupala is one of the most beloved Belarusian holidays, which gathers hundreds of people from different countries every year. The new collection will be released just in time for the summer solstice, so that everyone interested has texts and tips for the celebration at hand.
The "Kupalski Speunik" (Kupala Songbook) was compiled by the renowned ethno-singer and folklorist Palina Kuranovich. She gathered a complete ready-made complex for the celebration under one cover:
- Kupala songs from different regions of Belarus, along with sheet music and a special audio appendix;
- Characteristics, context, and detailed descriptions of each song;
- Step-by-step instructions, a ready-made script, and the main stages of Kupala.
Continuation of a Popular Series
This is not the first joint success of the team and Belarusian funders. Previously, pocket songbooks were released in this series, which became in-demand and popular among Belarusians: "Narodny" (Folk), "Kaliadny" (Christmas), "Biasednyia Piesni" (Feast Songs), as well as "Dziaciachy Speunik" (Children's Songbook), which saw the light in 2024.
"Kupalski Speunik" (Kupala Songbook) continues this tradition, and its print run is expected to be 1,000 copies. The book can be ordered here.
For those who wish to join other "Etna Tradycyja" (Ethno Tradition) initiatives or support the publication of future collections, you can make a donation here.
