A resident of Brest said that for many years she had been searching for her mother's burial place in a neighboring state.
The goal of the search was not only to find the grave but also to organize the reburial of her loved one in her homeland, Belarus. Thanks to painstaking work, she managed to locate the presumed burial place.
However, a serious problem arose: time had not spared the metal ritual plaque. Due to corrosion and the effects of natural factors, the inscriptions on it had become practically unreadable, which prevented accurate confirmation of the deceased's identity.
Using special methods for restoring faint records, experts were able to "read" what time had hidden. Despite significant damage to the plaque's surface, they managed to restore the surname, first name, patronymic, as well as the dates of birth and death of the person, according to the State Committee for Forensic Examinations.
