German police and special services are searching for Russian weapon caches
According to German special services, Russian intelligence has created weapon caches in Germany. As BILD writes , searches for these caches are currently underway.
On the evening of June 11, 2026, near Subotica, Serbian police stopped two cars heading towards the Hungarian border. In a "Peugeot" driven by Danila Bogdanovich, a Serb with a Russian passport, drone parts were found, while in Slobodan Dučić's black "Volvo," a hidden compartment contained two cans filled with explosives. According to the investigation's assessment, these could be assembled into a bomb. Bogdanovich and Dučić were arrested.
The next day, a friendly special service passed information to their German colleagues about a suspicious truck heading to Germany from Serbia. According to Serbian authorities, the truck contained a hidden compartment for weapons smuggling. However, Serbian police were unable to intercept the vehicle.
On June 27, Bavarian border police apprehended the truck upon its entry from Austria. The Serbian driver was detained, denied entry to Germany, and returned to Austria. The truck was confiscated. Investigators indeed found secret compartments — empty.
Security agencies concluded that the weapons shipment, about which the Serbs had warned, might have reached its destination in Germany earlier. According to BILD's information, the weapons could be intended for an attack on a defense enterprise in Bavaria, which is crucial for military aid to Ukraine.
The search for the weapons is in full swing. According to the German government's assessment, several networks of saboteurs, controlled by Russia, are currently active in Europe. They are believed to be coordinated by the GRU, which is reportedly conducting covert operations in Europe with the help of a "special tasks unit."
German investigators suspect that the weapons from the truck are already in some cache in Germany and ready for sabotage.
All agencies involved in this case, when asked by BILD, referred to the secrecy regime. On the pages of documents that BILD managed to see in connection with the investigation, "officially classified" was printed in red at the top.
