Long-time apostolic administrator Siarhei Hayek has resigned.

Pope Leo XIV has appointed a new apostolic administrator for Greek Catholics in Belarus (effectively, the head of the Belarusian Greek Catholic Church), according to "Christian Vision".
On September 14, Pope Leo XIV accepted the resignation of Archimandrite Siarhei Hayek, submitted by him due to reaching an honorable age. Archimandrite Hayek had headed the Apostolic Administrature for Greek Catholics in Belarus since 1994. Father Alexander Nadson, in turn, was the head of Greek Catholics in emigration.
Siarhei Hayek was of Polish origin, born in 1949 in Łyszkowice, Łódź Voivodeship.
The Pope appointed a Belarusian, Father Leontiy Tumovsky, as the new apostolic administrator of this church structure.
Leontiy (in the world, Aliaksandr) Tumovsky was born on July 9, 1973, in Polotsk, where he completed school. He studied at the Ukrainian Catholic University. Since 2003, he served as the abbot of the Sts. Boris and Gleb Monastery in Polotsk and the parish priest of the Parish of Holy Martyr Josaphat Kuntsevich. In 2006, he was appointed as the protopresbyter of the Eastern Protopresbyterate of the Belarusian Greek Catholic Church.
