Accelerated electric trains launched between Minsk and Maladziečna
From September 21, additional accelerated electric trains will start running between Minsk and Maladziečna. These will be regular regional economy-class trains, not business-class carriages, writes Blizko.by.
The new train No. 7041 will run on selected days until October 18. It will depart from Minsk at 9:58 and arrive in Maladziečna at 11:14. The journey will take 1 hour and 16 minutes. After Zhdanovichy station and until Fiestyvalny, the train will have no intermediate stops.
The return train No. 7042 will depart from Maladziečna at 13:52 and arrive in Minsk at 15:04. The journey time will be 1 hour and 12 minutes.
The fare will remain the same as in a regular electric train — 4 rubles 26 kopecks.
In general, accelerated electric trains already run between Minsk and Maladziečna. For example, trains on the Minsk — Hudahaj route skip almost all stops after Zhdanovichy until Fiestyvalny. The journey from Minsk to Maladziečna takes them about 1 hour and 19 minutes.
Regular electric trains, which stop at all stations, travel between Minsk and Maladziečna in approximately 1 hour 47-51 minutes.
The new trains are also related to future changes in the classification of suburban transport. The draft law on railway transport provides for the emergence of a separate type of regional economy-class lines — accelerated ones. Currently, regular electric and diesel trains fall into this category without division into subtypes.
It is assumed that the main difference of accelerated trains will be a smaller number of stops. Whether their fare will be more expensive than regular electric trains in the future is not yet precisely known.
Accelerated electric trains between Minsk and Maladziečna were a common occurrence both in Soviet times and in the 1990s. Some of them did not stop at all between the two terminal stations. This, among other things, was used by students traveling without tickets: the first place where controllers could disembark a fare dodger was one of the terminal stations — Minsk or Maladziečna.
