Air Force Commander: Number of Foreign Troops Near Belarus's Borders Decreased, Interaction with NATO Countries Ongoing
Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Andrei Lukyanovich, announced a decrease in the number of foreign troops and aircraft near the country's western borders. He also confirmed the existence of constant interaction with Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia regarding flights in the border zone.

On the state television channel STB, Andrei Lukyanovich characterized the current military situation around Belarus as stable. According to him, Belarusian servicemen are observing a decline in military activity from neighboring states.
«We are actually observing that a significant number of contingents, both air (the number of aircraft along our western borders) and ground, have decreased. We are performing combat duty tasks, meaning we continuously monitor the airspace and record a significant reduction in the number of flights of both combat and reconnaissance aircraft along our borders. We can confidently say that the situation at the moment is stable, there are no threats,» the newspaper «SB. Belarus Segodnya» cites the commander as saying.
At the same time, the commander confirmed that working contacts are maintained between military departments to prevent air incidents. Information exchange through operational services is ongoing with all three of Belarus's western neighbors.
«Through our operational service, we have constant interaction with the Republic of Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia. We regularly inform them about flights, and they warn us about flights in the border zone.
There was no interaction with Latvia only, but recently dialogue through the operational service has been restored,» said Andrei Lukyanovich.
