On the night of July 14, the USA began striking Iran for the third consecutive night, the U.S. Central Command reported. According to CENTCOM, the operation was aimed at Iranian military infrastructure to reduce Tehran's ability to attack vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
Yesterday, Trump stated that the USA intends to deliver very powerful strikes on Iran, Trump announced.
"Today we will hit them very hard, and tomorrow we will also hit them hard, and they will not be able to do anything about it. They have nothing."
The American leader also suggested that the USA could bomb Iran's nuclear facility in Natanz "quite soon."
In the early morning, Belarusian time, the United States completed strikes on Iran, destroying military facilities in six cities, according to a statement from the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), published on the social network X.
"CENTCOM finished the latest wave of strikes on Iran at 10:15 PM ET on July 13 (5:15 AM Minsk time). During the five-hour operation, U.S. forces successfully struck military facilities within Iran, including in Bushehr, Chabahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas," the statement said.
Precision-guided munitions targeted coastal defense systems, missile launchers, unmanned aerial vehicle facilities, and maritime assets to limit Iran's ability to attack commercial vessels in the region, U.S. military officials noted. According to CENTCOM, more than 50,000 U.S. troops are currently in the Middle East, maintaining combat readiness in the region.
Trump later wrote that up to 84 percent of Iran's arms production capability had been destroyed.
The same night, Iranian cruise missiles attacked tankers belonging to the United Arab Emirates. The vessels Mombasa and Bahia were damaged in the territorial waters of Oman.
As a result of the attack on Mombasa, an Indian citizen was killed, and eight other people, including citizens of India and Ukraine, were injured.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for the attack. According to the Iranian military, the UAE vessels had turned off their navigation systems, ignored warnings, and were damaged while attempting to pass through a prohibited zone. The IRGC also stated that the US had previously tried to ensure the passage of tankers through the Strait of Hormuz.
