To correct her bite, a Belarusian woman decided to have her jaw sawed — and didn't regret it. But not everyone can endure such an operation
18 thousand of her followers watched Victoria move towards her dream — correcting her bite. The girl literally had her jaw sawed and reshaped.
Despite the operation happening only a month ago and the blogger still being in the process of difficult rehabilitation, it's already possible to appreciate how incredibly her face has changed and how much easier it has become to breathe.
Since childhood, Victoria had a deep distal bite — her chin was always retracted, and her upper jaw strongly protruded forward. This not only affected her appearance. The incorrect bite critically narrowed her airways, leading to shortness of breath even when walking, and causing snoring at night. This peculiarity also affects posture — when the neck is always pulled forward, the body tries to compensate. Consequences include constant spasms and pain.
In addition, a constant lack of oxygen in the body weakens the immune system and can shorten a person's life due to prematurely initiated aging processes.
But that's not all: teeth in an incorrect position wear down quickly.
«Because of the severe swelling, people sometimes called me an alcoholic, thinking I was drinking heavily,» Victoria admits. «From adolescence, I already had nasolabial folds, swelling, a double chin, and the 'bird profile' itself. That's why strangers thought I was 5-10 years older. If not for the operation, by 35 I might already have jowls.»

The Belarusian woman had previously tried wearing braces, but they didn't bring any effect, as you can't grow or reshape bone with them. Moreover, the retainers, which were supposed to keep the teeth in the correct position, simply broke in Vika's situation.
But before the operation, the girl still had to wear aligners to straighten her dental arch. Additionally, she visited a physiotherapist who helped restore muscle tone and relieve tension from her jaw. The aligners cost Victoria five thousand dollars.
On D-day, surgeons sawed the girl's jaw — moving the upper one forward by four millimeters, and the lower one by as much as 19. Additionally, she underwent genioplasty — a surgical operation to change the shape and size of the chin.

The procedure lasted four hours under anesthesia. Afterwards, the patient must not engage in physical activities for at least two months and must not consume any food that needs chewing — all products should be blended. Furthermore, solid food should be avoided for at least another four months.

Jaw surgery also has its side effects. For example, after the operation, sensitivity in the chin and lower lip disappears. It usually recovers within a year, but in some people, it's not complete — only 50-70%. There are cases where sensitivity does not return at all.
The Belarusian woman lives in Poland, and such an operation here costs about 9 thousand dollars. However, with state insurance, everything is free, as it's a health issue, not exclusively an aesthetic one. True, the preparation for the procedure itself and rehabilitation are paid for out of the patients' pockets.
Therefore, for example, Victoria paid an additional two thousand dollars for diagnosis and 3D computer simulation of the operation to calculate everything.
Just a month after D-day, Victoria looks completely different — her face shape has entirely changed, she breathes more freely, and she has stopped snoring. Even her nose looks different now. The final result will be available in about a year, but even today Victoria does not hide her joy from the changes, despite the path to them being very difficult and long.
