Elon Musk: Starlink cannot be used for offensive actions, and the speed and parameters of military terminals are determined by the Pentagon and Trump
Elon Musk, owner of SpaceX, which operates the Starlink satellite communication system, stated that its use is limited to civilian and defensive tasks. According to him, using Starlink for offensive military actions would be inappropriate for a commercial company.

This is Musk's first comment since reports emerged about Starlink being disabled on devices moving at speeds over 160 km/h. The restrictions notably affected Ukrainian drones.
Musk responded to a post by Mykhailo Fedorov, former Minister of Defense and ex-Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. Fedorov thanked the entrepreneur and reported that Starlink connectivity at speeds up to 160 km/h had begun to restore. Fedorov also emphasized the importance of fully lifting speed restrictions for Starshield.
Starshield is SpaceX's secure satellite network designed for military and government needs. Ukrainian officials reported that new speed restrictions appeared specifically on the terminals of this system.
Musk explained that Starshield is owned and operated by the US government. Therefore, any speed or usage restrictions for this network are determined by the American military and ultimately by the US President. In contrast, Starlink is a commercial service owned and operated by SpaceX.
