In Grodno, a criminal case was opened regarding the illegal accrual of salaries to three football school coaches. According to official information, they were paid over 8,500 rubles for lessons they did not conduct, as they were absent from their workplaces at the time. Inaccurate information was entered into the timesheets. During the inspection, the money was fully returned by the suspects, writes the publication Betting.team.
Official bodies did not name the individuals involved in the case, however, Betting.team learned that the security forces had questions for Syarhei Saladounikau – a well-known figure in the history of Grodno football. His surname has already been removed from the official website of the "Neman" club, as has his deputy, Aliaksandr Balukha.
Syarhei Saladounikau is 67 years old. He was born on November 2, 1958, in Irkutsk, but primarily linked his playing and coaching career with Grodno. From 1978 to 1989, he played for the local "Khimik", which was later renamed "Neman". Over 12 seasons, he scored more than 100 goals. In 1990, the footballer moved abroad and played for Polish "Jagiellonia" from Białystok for two seasons, after which he returned to Grodno. In total, he played 423 matches for "Khimik" and "Neman" and scored 153 goals.
Saladounikau began his coaching career in 1997, even before ending his playing career. In total, he worked at "Neman" for about 20 years, and as head coach, he managed 391 matches in various tournaments. One of the club's greatest achievements is associated with his name – silver in the Belarusian championship in 2002.
Since 2019, Saladounikau has held the position of director of the "Neman" Youth Sports School.
According to Betting.team, as of October 21, information about Saladounikau and his deputy disappeared from the club's official website. In a saved copy of the page from August 1, Saladounikau was still listed in the administration section.
