Macron promised to give Ukraine a license for the production of French missiles

French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France will grant Ukraine licenses for the production of French missiles. He stated this during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as the leaders of Great Britain and Germany, Keir Starmer and Friedrich Merz, reports "European Pravda".

According to Macron, this refers to the licensed production of Aster missiles, which are used in SAMP/T anti-aircraft missile systems, developed by France together with Italy. He also noted that several other countries have already made similar decisions to transfer licenses for arms production to Ukraine.

The French president announced that together with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, they approved a roadmap for bilateral cooperation, which provides for further development of interaction in the field of air defense. Within its framework, Ukraine will acquire the first batch of new-generation SAMP/T systems, which will complement the already planned deliveries of air defense assets.

In turn, Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked France for the decision to transfer licenses for the production of Aster and SCALP missiles, calling this step important for strengthening the country's defense capabilities.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump also announced that Washington is ready to grant Ukraine the right to produce interceptor missiles for Patriot systems. According to media reports, their production will most likely be organized on the territory of one of the European countries, with Germany being considered among them.
