Trump ready to allow Ukraine to produce Patriot missiles domestically
Ukrainian and U.S. Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump held a joint press conference on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara. Several important statements were made by the American leader during it.
Donald Trump stated that the U.S. could issue Ukraine a license for Patriot missile production. According to him, he was informed about such a possibility by a "little bird," but he did not disclose further details.
The American president also noted that he maintains good relations with Volodymyr Zelenskyy and considers their cooperation only the beginning. At the same time, he said that he had previously expected the war to end sooner, but called Vladimir Putin a "difficult person."
Trump added that Zelenskyy is also "not easy," but, according to his assessment, significant progress has been made in peace talks over recent weeks. He also noted that further developments will show whether a final outcome can be achieved.
Answering a question about a possible escalation of the conflict, Trump expressed the opinion that it could contribute to its cessation. He also stated that he believes Putin is ready for a settlement, as he has spoken with him personally several times.
