Putin Again Went to the People. Journalists Noticed a Pattern Here
Putin started appearing among people with the same frequency as after Prigozhin's mutiny, Navalny's murder, and the invasion of the Kursk region.

During his visit to St. Petersburg, Vladimir Putin went out to meet people. He has used this tactic for the second time in a month and a half. He appeared among the people this frequently during critical moments for himself — in the summer of 2023 (after Yevgeny Prigozhin's mutiny) and in the period from late winter to late summer 2024, when Alexei Navalny was killed, a terrorist attack occurred at Crocus City Hall, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces began an invasion of the Kursk region, noticed 'Agentstvo'.
The President of the Russian Federation appeared before the crowd after visiting the Admiralty in St. Petersburg, according to the Telegram channel of the Kremlin pool. Putin stopped his motorcade and, without a jacket, went out to the people waiting for him, as reported on 'Russia 1' broadcast.
The interaction was brief. The President of the Russian Federation remained outside the car for a total of about 40 seconds, according to a video published by Pavel Zarubin, a correspondent for the Kremlin pool.
The last time Putin went out to people on the street was in June during a visit to Kazan. Before that — a year ago, in July 2025, during a visit to St. Petersburg (also during Navy Day).
Interestingly, this time the video of Putin's meeting with the people was published only two hours after the event. The first reports appeared at 20:33, and the video on Telegram only appeared at 22:33. As a result, it went almost unnoticed by many media outlets.
When Putin Starts Frequently Meeting People
After the start of the war, Putin first appeared before the people in September 2022 during a visit to Kaliningrad.
On March 19, 2023, he spoke with residents of Mariupol during a nighttime visit to the city.
However, Putin's meetings with the people on the streets truly became frequent after Prigozhin's mutiny. In June 2023, just a few days after the mutiny, he went out to people in Derbent, a month later — in Kronstadt, another month later — in the Kursk region, and on September 1 — in the Tver region.
In 2024, he first spoke with ordinary people six days after the murder of Alexei Navalny. On February 22, on his way from Tatarstan, Putin stopped near a village in Chuvashia and went out to the people who had been waiting for the motorcade for several hours. On March 5, he again went out to the people — this time in Stavropol.
Putin spoke with people on the street one more time (this time in Torzhok) on March 27 — five days after the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall.
The President of the Russian Federation appeared among people three times during the summer of 2024. He spoke with Russians on June 18, 26, and August 20. Putin's second appearance on June 26 took place after a double terrorist attack in Dagestan, which was the largest in the republic in 12 years. And in August, he spoke with the people two weeks after the Ukrainian Armed Forces' invasion of the Kursk region.
These public appearances this summer are taking place against the backdrop of major crises related to the war in Ukraine — an ecological disaster in the Black Sea, the logistical blockade of Crimea, a fuel crisis, and strikes on Wildberries. Against this backdrop, the ratings of the authorities, including Putin, are falling.
