Minsk to develop common principles for advertising placement along roads
Minsk is preparing a concept for assessing the impact of outdoor advertising on road safety. This was reported by Dzianis Livanovich, deputy head of the Minsk City Executive Committee's State Traffic Inspectorate (STAI) Department, during a meeting of the road safety commission.

According to the official, the document will define general principles for installing advertising structures along roads for both commercial and state organizations, as well as for the bodies that approve such projects.
It is expected that the new rules will help reduce subjectivity in decision-making and make the approval process more transparent. After development, the concept is planned to be submitted for consideration by the Minsk City Council of Deputies.
Also, at the meeting, issues of safety near educational institutions were discussed. The Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Uladzimir Kukharau, instructed to fully ensure safety near schools and kindergartens by August 15.
In 2026, Minsk plans to implement 271 measures in 209 sections of the street and road network and courtyard areas. Among them:
- installation of artificial road bumps;
- narrowing of the carriageway in dangerous places;
- streamlining unregulated pedestrian crossings;
- creation of pick-up and drop-off zones for children near schools;
- modernization of street lighting.
In addition, an initiative to restrict truck traffic on certain sections of the Minsk Ring Road (MKAD) was considered. It is planned to identify an experimental section where the impact of new restrictions on accident rates and traffic intensity will be studied over the course of a year. Further decisions will be made based on the results of the experiment.
