At the summit between the presidents of Russia and the United States in Alaska last August, "proposals were discussed, but there were no agreements," US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said today.
«We are ready to step forward and play a constructive role if we have the opportunity to bring the parties together and end this war. This is what the president has been trying to do for a year and a half,» he noted.
Rubio emphasized that if an agreement had been reached in Alaska, military actions would have already ceased.
Two days earlier, on June 23, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stated that Moscow observes Washington's departure from "basic understandings" reached by presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Anchorage.
