A Belarusian entrepreneur has developed a free mobile and web application called «Kabinka», which helps users find public toilets in Minsk. The service is available on iOS, Android, in a web version, and also via a Telegram bot, writes Onliner.by.
In the app, users can see the location of nearby toilets, photos, and descriptions of amenities. For those unfamiliar with the city, a compass mode is provided, and tourists can use the map even without internet access.
According to the project creator Yevgeny Shapashnikov, the idea arose from personal experience and observations of those around him.
— In fact, I had three reasons. The first is related to my parents, who always walked near home and were afraid to go further. I told them: go to the park, take a walk. But it turned out that they simply don't know where the restrooms are and therefore don't want to go far. Then friends told me that their parents have the same problem, — he shared.
The second reason for creating the service was mass events and the influx of tourists.
— During public holidays, many people from the regions come to the city. Often you can see all the bushes occupied, even though people simply don't know that there's a toilet 200-300 meters away from them, — the developer noted.

The third reason turned out to be related to his own habits.
— I try to walk 20 thousand steps a day and drink liters of coffee, so this problem is very relevant for me personally, — said Shapashnikov.
The developer hopes that the app will help reduce the number of conflicts between visitors and establishments. Owners of cafes, restaurants, and other facilities can independently add information about their restrooms and indicate whether they are available only to customers or open to everyone.
Yevgeny says that the app's development itself took only a week. The technical part of the project was created using neural networks and so-called «vibe-coding» tools. However, filling the database took significantly more time.
— For about a month, I personally walked around the city and collected information about approximately 300 restrooms. I recorded the infrastructure, accessibility for people with disabilities and other special needs.
