"Fled from migrants and gender ideology." Propaganda showed another family of COVID dissidents who moved from Germany to Belarus

The Oelke family left Saxony to settle in a village near Minsk. The main reasons for emigration, the spouses call disagreement with migration policy, school lessons on gender, and the German approach to vaccination. At the same time, the wife in the family is a Russian woman from Chechnya, but for the move, the couple chose Belarus, not Russia, which they previously only knew about from the Internet.

As the regional newspaper "Pristalichcha" writes, the family's move was not a spontaneous decision, although the family had never been to Belarus before.

The Oelke family is international: Marina is of Russian origin; she was born in Chechnya, from where her family once fled the war. Ronald is a native German. They met in 2006 when Ronald came to Russia with a charitable mission for the children of Beslan. After the wedding, Marina moved to her husband in Saxony, where they had three children.

It's interesting that when considering options for emigration, the family for some reason did not choose Russia, where Marina was born and raised, but settled on Belarus.

What they "fled" from in Germany

The set of reasons that, according to the family, prompted them to move fully corresponds to classical propaganda narratives about the "decaying West." The first reason was the change in the social environment in their small village near Dresden after the migration wave. They claim that children's bicycles began to disappear from yards, and warnings not to leave children alone at bus stops appeared in parent chats.

The second factor was school education. The family's concern was raised by "educational projects" conducted for ten-year-old children.

Ronald claims that under the guise of "democracy day," children were told that "sex is fun" and they should seek their gender identity.

Marina adds that her daughter was allegedly told that "being just a normal girl is already boring and wrong." In addition, the family was disappointed with the German media, believing that they distorted information about events in Ukraine and Donbas.

Choosing Belarus and COVID dissent

The family chose Belarus by studying information online. And here another important aspect of their worldview is revealed. As Marina says, during the COVID-19 pandemic, they were impressed that the country did not impose a total lockdown and did not force people to vaccinate.

"We watched and rejoiced: Father is a good man, he didn't force anyone under the bench," the publication quotes the woman.

Upon arrival for reconnaissance, the family traveled around several regions but chose a plot in the village of Staroye Syalo, Minsk district. They were not even scared by the unfinished house they bought and later brought into order. Now the building is painted in bright orange. Special attention was paid to heating: a stove was installed in the house, because in Germany, as the family claims, there were power outages in winter.

Professional difficulties and plans

The house renovation was carried out with money from the sale of their home in Germany. Moving in one car allowed them to take only a minimum of things, while the main part of their property, including professional equipment, was stuck at customs.

Ronald is a carpenter-restorer by profession; his German master's diploma is equated to an engineering one. However, without his tools, he cannot start work yet.

"My soul aches. I can't even nail a skirting board; all my tools are there," he says.

Marina is a medical professional by education; she worked in a mobile blood donation service. To return to her profession, she needs to confirm her qualification as a resuscitator.

The children, according to their parents, have adapted. The eldest son has already learned Belarusian, and the daughter has started writing a book and engaging in drawing. The family's plans include planting a garden, building a workshop, and leading a peaceful life.

"Here we let the children go and stopped twitching every five minutes. I know that nothing will happen to them," the publication quotes Marina. Ronald, looking around the house, agrees: "Everything is known by comparison. We made the right choice."
