Syria and Russia will transform Russian military bases into joint training centers

Syria and Russia have agreed that Russian military bases in Syria will be reorganized into joint training centers. Russian civilian facilities there will come under the control of the Syrian state, writes SANA agency.

Syria will take control of, among other facilities, Khmeimim Airport and the fourth commercial pier in the port of Tartus.

Russian military bases will be reorganized into joint training and qualification centers.

The transitional period will last three months, after which the new rules will come into force.
