Tusk announced that a Russian X-101 cruise missile most likely fell in Poland

Polish air defense forces were ready to shoot down the Russian missile that fell in the Lublin region, the Polish side assures.

During a massive Russian strike on Ukraine, a cruise missile flew into and fell in Polish airspace.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed the incident and stated: «During massive Russian attacks on Ukraine, Polish airspace was violated. We have a serious incident».

The head of government emphasized the promptness of the military: «Initial information unequivocally indicates that the relevant services, first and foremost the army and our pilots, acted very quickly and effectively».

He also added: «We were ready to shoot down the missile in case it flew further».

Regarding the type of missile, Tusk noted: «Everything indicates that we are dealing with a Russian X-101 missile, but we are not pre-empting the results of a detailed investigation».

As a result of the incident, no one was injured, and there was no destruction. Prime Minister Donald Tusk, the leadership of the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs immediately went to the crash site.
