Donald Trump, during a conversation with journalists, stated that Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin should now "sort out themselves" the issue of the Russian-Ukrainian war, writes "Ukrainska Pravda".
Trump was asked if he wanted them to first hold a conversation without US involvement, after Zelenskyy offered Putin a personal meeting.
"I don't mind. That is, let them sort it out themselves. I brought them to this situation, and I think everything will work out," — answered the American president.
He also expressed confidence that now "the moment is approaching when the issue between Russia and Ukraine should be resolved."
"This is a war that should never have happened. It would never have happened if I had been president. But I think everything will work out," — added Trump.
