US President's Special Envoy John Coale explained why he did not participate in the May trip to Belarus with preacher Franklin Graham. According to him, it was his personal decision.

John Coale reacted on social network X to the statements of Belarusian figure Valery Tsepkalo, who suggested that negotiations between the US and Belarus regarding the release of political prisoners had reached a deadlock.
"You got it all wrong. I did not go last time by my own will. Belarus was not in my plans. The trip was organized for Franklin Graham to preach, which he did. My work had nothing to do with it," John Coale wrote.
