Prime Minister and leader of the "Civil Contract" party Nikol Pashinyan rushed to declare his party's victory, even though the Central Election Commission has not yet processed even 20 percent of the ballots.
Nikol Pashinyan also noted that "Civil Contract" will form the government unilaterally.
"I express gratitude to all citizens of the Republic of Armenia who, first and foremost, participated in the elections and voted according to their free will. And I want to emphasize that compared to 2021, "Civil Contract" received the votes of a larger number of citizens of the Republic of Armenia, a vote of confidence from a larger number of citizens. This places great responsibility on us and means that the citizen of the Republic of Armenia remained the master of their state, the master of independence, the master of the future, the master of peace," news.am quotes Pashinyan.
Earlier, based on the processing of 145,000 ballots from 420 precincts, the "Civil Contract" party had 55%. "Strong Armenia" of pro-Russian billionaire Samvel Karapetyan had 22%.
